Trade visitor increase of 30% at the 11th Zootechnia

Greek and international trade visitors gave the 11th Zootechnia their “vote of confidence”, as they increased in number by 30% in comparison to the event of 2017.

The interest of sector professionals was evident and attendance reflected the 11th Zootechnia’s rich content. Apart from its broad range of exhibits, it included congresses, events, and special thematic exhibitions, such as the Horse Show and the Pet Festival.

‘Digital Greece for Animal and Fowl Farming’ proved to be a pole of attraction for visitors at the 11th Zootechnia. This event is an extension of Digital Greece, the event held at the 83rd TIF, co-organised by the Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications, and Media, where 10 Greek startups presented their innovative ideas, their fresh outlook, their products and achievements, framed in a rich programme that included speeches and workshops on primary and secondary production subjects related to the exhibitions sectors.

There was also high attendance at the congresses of this year’s event, at the 6th Pan-Hellenic Congress on Meat and Meat Products, ‘From the Stable to the Plate', which was co-organised by TIF-Helexpo and Meat News magazine, and at the Congress on the Application of Circular Economy in Farming and Livestock Farming, which was co-organised with the Success company.

At the ‘Horse Show’ more than 50 horses put on an impressive show by participating in agility shows, chariot races, and other events, while at the ‘Pet Festival’ international visitors had the chance to be informed on matters pertaining to the training, nutrition, and health of their pets. In fact, agility contests were organised for the first time in the framework of the ‘Pet Festival’.

In total, 988 exhibitors participated in the 11th Zootechnia, in comparison to 939 in 2017, while the exhibition spaces used - indoor and outdoor - covered an area of 16,663 sq. m. in comparison to 14,350 sq. m. in 2017. International direct exhibitors came from 14 countries, while overall international exhibitors (direct and indirect) represented 41 countries, in comparison to 37 countries in 2017. There was also a rich programme for hosted buyers, who reached 380 in number

TIF-Helexpo has set its next “date” with the farming sector for the 12th Agrothessaly event, which will be held from 28 February to 3 March in the Indoor Market of Neapoli, Larissa.
