Artecitya

TIF is the new partner in the European Program “Artecitya. Envisioning the City of Tomorrow” (2014-2018), which is aiming to bring together artists, architects, town planners and citizens to re-create the cities we want to live in, through a vigorously innovative approach of the concept of urban life that takes into account the sociological evolution and people's needs.

“Artecitya. Envisioning the City of Tomorrow" (2014-2018) is a European program that was launched at the end of 2014. It is a partnership among 9 cultural organizations from 7 European countries (France, Germany, Slovenia, Poland, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Greece), supported by the “Creative Europe” program.

The participation of TIF (The National Exhibition Organizer of Greece) in the program entails the organization of an Art, Science and Technology Festival that will take place in September 2016, 2017 and 2018, in the context of the annual E-Gaming event that TIF-Helexpo has been organizing for the past 5 years.

The Festival aims to explore different types of synergies between art, science and technology, through collaborations among artists and tech developers. The program of each year is built through a series of preparatory workshops that produce new ideas, innovation and prototypes with the participation of young and established creatives and citizens from various backgrounds. The tools for achieving this goal are the practices of Social Engagement, Participation and Art for Social Change.

TIF-Helexpo has already started collaborating with the other Artecitya partners, among which the Municipality of Thessaloniki, under whose aegis the project is realized, as well as Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki.
